AM Meat Slicer
Italian Corner Deli is hiring a AM slicing prep team member for our 7:00am - 2pm shift.
Our deli operates 7 days a week. This position requires availability on both weekend days.
The AM slicing prep position is responsible for the daily slicing needs for our sandwich line. Candidates should have the ability to work well independently and with a team. Strong time management, organizational and meat slicing skills are required. The ability to follow a prep list and work independently is a must. This position will also play an important role in our daily sandwich operations in providing deli cuts to sandwich makers to fulfill sandwich orders.
Job Requirements
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency
- 2+ years meat slicing experience with a knowledge of various deli meats
- Work effectively within a team environment
- Ability to follow a prep list and stay on task when working independently
- Ability to follow recipes and comply with company procedures and food safety policies
- Strong understanding of proper sanitation practices and safe food handling practices
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area by sanitizing slicers, washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces and taking out trash
- Must be able to spend multiple hours standing at a slicer
- Basic knowledge of Italian deli meats a plus
- Strong customer service skills
- Basic math skills
- Able to read and understand English
- ServeSafe certified preferred, but not required
Pay rates start at $16/hr. Average hourly rate with tips included $20+/hr.
